Buying
Below are some preparations you can make prior to signing with an agent. You can also contact us at any time and we can guide you through the entire process as well.

imageBuying a Home Tips
  • Click here to view our services.
  • Get a copy of your credit report and correct any errors.
  • Reduce your consumer debt - pay down credit card balances. Do not close out any accounts, as this can lower your credit score.
  • Assemble a cash down payment.
  • Determine how much you can afford to pay for a home.
  • Decide how much you are willing to spend for a home (different from how much you can afford).
  • Get familiar with basic mortgage terms.
  • Shop for a mortgage loan on the Internet or we can give you a list of loan officers that you can interview.
  • Get pre-approved or at least pre-qualified for a mortgage loan.
  • Investigate neighborhoods where you want to look for a house. We add links to information on our site as we gather it on different HOA's. The HOA is an important consideration as to which neighborhood you may want to live in.
  • Consider neighborhood school quality and crime rates. We have a link page that can greatly assist you in finding this information.
  • Select two or three neighborhoods that meet your requirements.
  • Try a search on our web site and view our featured homes.
  • I can help you in evaluating the asking price of homes you like. Just as I do for my sellers I will do for my buyers and do a comparative competitive market analysis on homes that you may want to make an offer on.
  • Contact us for more help and personal recommendations. I can not list every reason to hire me to get you into your dream home on a website, so interview me to find out if we are a match.

I make a pledge to each of my client's, not to sell you something but to work in your best interest to accomplish what you think is best for you and your family. Here is a quote from a recent buyer that decided that in the best interest of his family that renting an apartment was the way to proceed. "Steve, You are the first agent in over a year that did not try to sell us anything, but help us out".
